Variable Speed Drive Cable

Paper mills. Chemical fiber plants. Air conditioning rooms in high rise buildings. These places have many VFDs. There are also flammable materials nearby. If a fire starts because of harmonic heating or an outside fire, ordinary VFD cables like BP-YJVP2 can block interference. But they cannot stop the flame from spreading.

Our Variable Speed Drive Cable is a VFD cable with flame retardant and VFD dual certification. Its voltage rating is 0.6/1kV. It is made for VFD systems that need both electromagnetic compatibility and flame retardant safety.

The shielding structure follows the copper wire winding plus copper tape wrap. Copper wire winding coverage is 90% or more. Copper tape wrap overlap is 15% or more. This keeps transfer impedance at ≤50mΩ/m at 30MHz. It effectively suppresses harmonic radiation from the VFD.

The core is the flame retardant sheath. The outer layer is flame retardant PVC. The oxygen index is 30% or more. It passes the GB/T 18380.12 single vertical burning test. Afterburn time is ≤10 seconds. Self extinguishing performance is very good.

The insulation is XLPE. The temperature rating is 90°C. It can handle the high voltage spikes from the VFD output. The conductor uses a 3+3 symmetrical structure. This cancels zero sequence harmonic flux.

We did the GB/T 18380.33 bunched burning test Class C. The carbonization height was ≤2.5m. This meets flame retardant Class C standard. This means even if a fire starts in a crowded cable tray, this product will not become a path for flame spread.

The addition of flame retardant did not noticeably affect shielding effectiveness. We measured transfer impedance at ≤55mΩ/m at 30MHz. This is similar to ordinary VFD cables. Working capacitance is ≤0.2μF/100m. It is good for long distance VFD transmission.

The conductor working temperature is 90°C. Short circuit temperature is 250°C. Minimum bend radius is 15 times the cable outer diameter.

If your site has low smoke halogen free requirements, like subways and hospitals, choose WDZ-BP-YJYP2. The Variable Speed Drive Cable still produces a small amount of HCl gas when burning. It is not suitable for crowded enclosed spaces.
