
Have you ever had signal interference problems with the cable next to your inverter? The nearby instrument readings jump around. The communication keeps dropping. This is not a device problem. It is a shielding problem with the cable.
Our cable is made for high electromagnetic interference environments. The Steel Tape Armored Alloy Cable has a voltage rating from 0.6/1kV up to 26/35kV. It combines three shielding mechanisms. The first is copper wire braid shielding. The second is copper tape wrap shielding. The third is aluminum alloy interlocking armour. It is used in places with sensitive instruments, communication equipment, and data centers. It works like a Faraday cage. It completely isolates internal and external electromagnetic interference.
We built three layers of defense for this cable. The first is inner shielding. Outside the XLPE insulation of the rare earth aluminum conductor, we wrap a semiconductive shielding layer. This evens out the electric field. It also prevents partial discharge.
The second is core shielding. We use copper tape wrap plus tin plated copper wire braid. The overlap rate of the copper tape is not less than 15%. This gives 100% coverage density. The copper wire braid provides a low resistance grounding path. Its braid density is not less than 80%.
The third is armour shielding. The outer aluminum alloy interlocking armour is an extra magnetic shielding layer.
We did real tests. In the frequency range of 30MHz to 1000MHz, its shielding attenuation can reach 70 to 90dB. It absorbs the high harmonic radiation from the inverter. So they do not interfere with nearby 4-20mA signal lines or Ethernet communication.
Even with its complex structure, the Steel Tape Armored Alloy Cable can keep its minimum bend radius within 7 times the cable outer diameter. Its long term working temperature is -40°C to 90°C. The combined shielding layer of copper tape and copper wire braid has a DC resistance of less than 1Ω/km.
