There is gas in coal mines. There is coal dust. These things explode when they meet an electric spark. So the safety standard for cables used underground is much higher than on the surface.

Our cable is a power cable made for fixed installation in coal mines. Its voltage rating goes from 0.6/1kV up to 8.7/10kV. It strictly follows the MT 818 and GB/T 12972 mining cable standards. It also holds the national mining product safety mark certificate, which is the MA mark. You can see the MA mark and number printed on the cable sheath. This can be traced back.

The conductor is high purity oxygen free copper. The structure is Class 2 compact stranded round. Copper conductor has good conductivity and mechanical strength. It is good for fixed installation.

The insulation of the Mining Electrical Cable is XLPE. Compared to mining rubber sheathed cables like MYP, XLPE insulation has a long term working temperature of 90°C. Dielectric loss is very low. It is better for medium voltage 6/10kV long distance power supply. It effectively reduces line voltage drop.

The core is the sheath. We use flame retardant PVC sheath. The color is usually black. This material passes the GB/T 18380.12 single vertical burning test. It self extinguishes when the flame is removed. This means the cable will not start a fire if there is a short circuit underground.

The flame retardant performance meets the MT 386 standard. After burning 6 test samples, the average afterburn time is ≤5 seconds. This is stricter than ordinary flame retardant cables on the surface.

The voltage rating has several levels. 0.6/1kV, 1.8/3kV, 3.6/6kV, 6/10kV, 8.7/10kV. Conductor long term working temperature is 90°C. Short circuit temperature is 250°C. Insulation resistance constant at 20°C is ≥3670 MΩ·km.

It is for fixed installation. Minimum bend radius is 10 times the cable outer diameter for armoured type. Note: It cannot be used on mining faces or mobile equipment. For mobile equipment, choose MYP or MYPTJ rubber sheathed soft cables.
