Our Xlpe Insulated Pvc Sheathed Cable is the most widely used copper cable in power transmission today. Its full name is copper core XLPE insulated PVC sheathed power cable. It is suitable for power transmission and distribution systems from 0.6/1kV up to 26/35kV. It is the first choice for city underground power grids, substation outgoing lines, and main power supply in industrial and mining enterprises.
The conductor is high purity oxygen free copper. We can also make aluminum core YJLV if you ask. The conductor structure meets GB/T 3956 Class 2 standard. It is a compact stranded round shape. The surface is smooth with no burrs. This evens out the electric field distribution.
The insulation layer is the core. We use chemical cross linking or radiation cross linked polyethylene. We call it XLPE. By changing the linear polyethylene molecular structure into a three dimensional network structure, the long term working temperature increases from 70°C for PVC to 90°C. During a short circuit (5 seconds max), it can handle 250°C. The insulation resistance constant of XLPE is much higher than PVC. The dielectric loss tangent is very low.
The outer layer is a PVC sheath. This provides basic moisture resistance, corrosion protection, and flame retardancy.
Because the conductor working temperature increased from 70°C to 90°C, under the same environment and installation conditions, the current carrying capacity of YJV is 15% to 20% higher than VV cable. This means choosing YJV lets you reduce the cable cross section. This saves you initial investment.
The Xlpe Insulated Pvc Sheathed Cable has many voltage ratings. 0.6/1kV is for low voltage. There are also medium voltage levels like 6/10kV, 8.7/15kV, and 26/35kV. It works for everything from workshop distribution to regional power supply.
Its minimum bend radius is 7 times the cable outer diameter. For single core without armour, this is the number. For multi core, it is 10D. The installation environment temperature should not be below 0°C.
